C45/EN8/EN19

C45 grade is high carbon steel that offers moderate to high tensile strength. The material is capable of bearing high temperature due to through hardening by the tempering and quenching processes in limited sections. The grade is mostly supplied in normalized or untreated condition and available in different variations that offer modification of chemical composition. However, in this grade machinability can be similar to mild steel but weldability gets reduced. It has high carbon properties that are better for punch manufacturing companies and die manufacturing companies. The grade also has better hardness than the regular steel plates that offer unique wear resistance feature. The grade is also associated with BS EN 10277-2:2008 standard.
