SA537 CLASS 2
SA 537 CL 2 steel is a pressure vessel-grade steel alloy of silicon, carbon, and manganese. This steel is used extensively in designing heat exchangers, pressurized tanks, and boilers. The heat treatment is provided using tempered and quenched techniques; the material has greater yielding strength and residual tensile strength when to the pressure vessel grade it is compared that is produced under the standard ASME SA516. ASME SA537 CL2 is used mainly by the petrochemical and oil & gas industries. The notch toughness of the plates can be improved through quenching cooling from the hot rolling or normalizing. If a faster cooling rate is permitted, the steel can be tempered at a temperature ranging from 1200℉.
